What transport is available to get around?
To get to Pahia (the next biggest town from Russell) you can get a passenger ferry (15 minute ride) which drops you off in the centre of Pahia. The passenger ferry leaves from the Russell Wharf.

Keri Keri another town worth a visit while in the Bay of Islands can be reached by car (45 minute - 1hour journey) or there are regular shuttles to get there. There is also a car ferry (5 minutes) which connects Russell and Opua. From Opua you can drive north to Pahia (10 minutes) or onwards to Keri Keri etc. You can also drive south which connects you to Auckland.

Keri Keri is also where the closest airport to Russell is. The airport in Keri Keri is quite small (and therefore the planes!) so if your clients prefer bigger planes they can fly into Auckland, hire a car and drive to Russell. About 3 to 3.5 hours drive. They can either take the scenic route (which can take a bit longer as it's a windy road) or go via the car ferry which is mentioned above.

There are water taxis and normal taxis available in both Pahia and Russell which can connect you to the many destinations in the Bay of Islands.

What can I do nearby?
There are a lot of water activities and historic places to see.

Our Hotel is situated right on the waterfront in Russell and therefore all tourist attractions, activities, shops and restaurants are a 5 minute walk. Russell township is a relatively small place. There is a beach right out the front of the Hotel and a couple of lovely ones between a 15 and 30 minute walk away from our hotel.

Many of the Bay of Islands tourist attractions are water-based and all pick up from the Russell Wharf (2-3 minutes walk from our Hotel).
